I have my own head to finish :) so were are in the same boat!

I ran into some trouble with the nostrils that you are not having. Nose looks good (although its looks like the nostril depth "ends" instead of becoming a hole right now. )

However, it looks like we both need to get the ears touched up.

Are you using a specific reference for this face? I am for mine, although I realize my original photographs are not good enough and that I need to supplement them.

"Good cg is realistic, bad cg isn't.
This doesn't mean a cg image necessarily and always has to be realistic, like a photograph - but in practice, it turns out that's usually the direction it should be taken."

it is a good start, but it looks like you're in that purgatory between detail and form. my suggestion would be to exhaust a subdivision's potential before subdividing and moving up. meaning, when you start at subdiv 1, flesh out those large base forms as much as possible and get them flowing right, then go to subdiv 2. refine those larger forms and the transitions between the shapes. subdiv 3, really refine the secondary forms and start laying in some of the larger tertiary detail (large wrinkles and such). sub-d 4, full on tertiary detail. sub-d 5, go nuts (within reason).

also, one method i like to practice a lot when working on a full character is not going up in subdivs without the same level of detail over the whole model and build it up that way so you're not getting sucked in to 1 specific part. i'm gonna be writing up a post or two about my process for zbrush models as well as keeping yourself motivated when pieces aren't really going where you want them to go because that happens to me all the time. hope you're well man. keep up the good work!
